How to vote in the D64 election.
School board seats are decided in April of odd years, when almost nobody is watching. That is exactly why your ballot counts for more here.
Am I eligible to vote in this race?
If you live within the boundaries of Park Ridge–Niles School District 64, yes, whether or not you have children in the schools. The district covers most of Park Ridge and a portion of Niles, and its boundaries are not the same as the city limits.
Not sure? District 64 publishes an interactive boundary map where you can enter your address and see whether you fall inside the district. You can also confirm your registration and see which districts you vote in through the Cook County Clerk.
When can I see a sample ballot?
Not yet. The ballot for April 6, 2027 isn’t set until candidates file their nominating papers in November 16–23, 2026 and any objections are resolved. Sample ballots normally appear on the Cook County Clerk’s site in the weeks before early voting opens, so expect them in early 2027.

Register to vote
You can register or update your address online through the Illinois Online Voter Registration portal. If you’ve moved within the district since the last election, update your address. It’s the most common reason people get turned away.
Online registration closes several weeks before Election Day, with grace-period and same-day registration available after that at designated locations. Confirm current deadlines with the Cook County Clerk.
Ways to vote
- Vote by mail. Request a ballot from the Cook County Clerk. This is the easiest option for an April election.
- Early voting. Open at designated sites in the weeks before Election Day.
- Election Day. Polls are open 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at your assigned precinct.
